2023 Open Day with TT-Club meeting on Saturday, 10 June 2023

This year’s event “Open Day” with the TT-club meeting is slowly but surely looming on the horizon. Here we have summarised all the important information concerning all aspects of this "grand” event for you: the things you can experience this year on 10 June (from 9:00 am to 6:00 pm) will certainly do justice to an anniversary event: not only model railways will be the focal point of the action on this day but also the “life-size railway”.

We are delighted that, in order to realise this project, we have once again been able to win over our renowned partner from the transport and logistics industry: ITL which forms part of the CAPTRAIN railway company that operates internationally. This Saturday, 10 June, there will be a joint open day at their headquarters in Pirna, in conjunction with our activities in Sebnitz.

In this way not only all the model railway enthusiasts, but also fans of the original railway model will really get their money’s worth on this day.

Countless activities await you on this day at the event locations of Sebnitz and Pirna: The large model railway exhibition with sets of different nominal scales, manufacturers and clubs, the interesting show of locomotives in the workshop hall, trips in the driver's cabs, the family festival or the children's playground paradise will delight you or your family.

We also offer you guided tours through our production areas, presentations of new products and rounds of talks. Of course, our model railway gallery with its museum and shop will open for you, and the popular special sale will also hold also sorts of surprises in store for you.

And here are two further very special items on the agenda:

Sebnitz event location: Visit our Czech cooperation partner, the "OK-Form" company in the neighbouring town of Dolni-Poustevna. Numerous products of our range are being produced there including track material. The shuttle service to OK-Form departs every hour from the location of the TILLIG company. Please note that only a limited number of places are available for the visit to OK-Form; the visit and the shuttle service are free of charge. The use of this offer is only possible with pre-registration via this online form. So register straight away (please bring your valid personal identity card or passport with you on the day of the event):

Pirna event location: We offer something very special for all keen amateur photographers before the official opening: You will have the opportunity to drive into the ITL grounds for a "photographer's hour" before the visitors arrive in their droves, so you can capture your railway motifs in peace. Participation in the photographer’s hours is only possible if you purchase a ticket in advance (start: Saturday, 7:50 am at the Pirna railway station, price per person: € 5.00). Reservation only via this online form. Please note that only a limited quota of tickets is available for this.

Handing out of the club models:

This year’s exclusive models and the workshop locomotive kits will be handed out in the secretary’s office at TILLIG’s company premises, Lange Straße/Promenade (see Station D in the site plan).

• Club models pre-ordered from retailers

If you have ordered the models from your specialist retailers, we request you pick them up there. The models are delivered to the specialist retailers briefly following the club meeting. Please only purchase models that you have not ordered from a specialist retailer.

• The free annual models and the TT catalogue

As in the past few years you will be able to receive your free annual models (502494) as well as the TT catalogue for 2023/2024 from your specialist retailer in the autumn (around mid October). These services will thus not be provided at the club meeting.

Payment for club models will be made according to payment contitions despostited with us. For instance, if we have your SEPA direct debit mandate, we will deduct the sum from your account shortly after the club meeting. All the other club members will receive the models against cash or card payment (EC / credit cards).

It was only brought as a new model release just a few months ago, and you now already have the opportunity to assemble this locomotive yourself in our workshop, in the design of the BKK Bitterfeld works locomotive. (502490-502493).

This year we have set up the workshop in dining room of TILLIG company. All the activities at the Sebnitz site focus upon the TILLIG company this time – this means you won’t have to embark on any additional journeys. Please do not forget to collect the construction set you ordered (in the TILLIG secretary’s office) in good time before your workshop. This is possible from 9:00 am onwards. However, when you pick them up at the start of the event, we kindly request that you give priority to all those participants who are taking part in the first workshop at 10:00 am. It is possible to collect the construction sets throughout the whole day.

Model railway gallery:

All guests enjoy free entrance to our museum on this day (including the special exhibition on the subject of “25 years of TILLIG Modellbahnen"). Our entire TILLIG range, as well as articles from many manufacturers of accessories, are available in our gallery shop.

Exclusively at this year's event we can offer you these two TT special models, which you can purchase in Sebnitz in the Modellbahn-Galerie and in Pirna at the TILLIG exhibition stand (it is not possible to order the models in advance):

This year you will find the large special sale in a marquee in the company yard. Bargains, remaining stock, 2nd hand exhibition models and special spare parts await you in the special sale.

Regular spare parts are only offered on pre-order. You can order the spare parts by 06/05/2023 by email to Kundendienst@tillig.com, by telephone on our customer service hotline or please use the form and enter the note "Collection on 06/10/2023" in the "Remarks" field

Company tours:

In addition to the inspection of our manufacturing operations in the tool shop, the plastic injection shop and the decoration department, you will once again be offered an item to "take away" with you this year: As a souvenir of this event, we manufacture parts in the plastic injection moulding shop that our visitors can take away with them for free. Passenger cars and Matador kits are once again available for purchase and assembly in the assembly department.

Up to now the presentation of new products at an information stand in the TILLIG tool construction sector was always a popular place to go for visitors. We do of course want to offer something similar this time as well. In addition to viewing the work statuses of our new products you have the option of talking shop with our product development staff and asking them a few questions.

The Family Festival in the company yard:

We would like to celebrate our open day with you with music, entertainment and a raffle at the TILLIG company yard. We will of course lay on the very best catering and refreshment for you:

The Open Day at ITL/CAPTRAIN will enable you to gain fascinating insights into the work and fleet of this railway company. It is unquestionably something that you would hardly be able to experience anywhere else. This includes for instance tours of the ITL premises including a visit of the workshop hall (entrance is free) in addition to trips in the driver's cabs. Of course a large presentation of vehicles has also been prepared. This is not just in the form of the locomotives and carriages of ITL/CAPTRAIN but also with the addition of quite a few attractive "guest vehicles”. At the same time you can experience a large exhibition of model railways featuring around 25 exhibitors.

Promotions, music and entertainment on the festival stage await you at the ITL festival site.

Shuttle service from Sebnitz/Pirna and opposite direction:

To commute between both venues, we recommend the train connection Sebnitz - Pirna (www.vvo-online.de) or alternatively the route Sebnitz - Bad Schandau (www.vvo-online.de) in combination with the S-Bahn Bad Schandau to Pirna.  We recommend a single day pass for the "Verbundraum" (area of the transport association) (valid for a maximum of 3 persons, of which a maximum of 1 person may be older than 14) for € 18.00 or a family day pass for the "Verbundraum" (for 6 persons, of which a maximum of 2 Persons may be older than 14) for € 25,70, or a small group ticket (applies for a maximum of 5 persons) for 37,60 € (information without guarantee transport companys).
In addition, we have organised local shuttle services with different vehicles for you from 09:00 am to 6:00 pm: In Sebnitz a bus "Ikarus" between the station and TILLIG, in Pirna between the visitors' car park and ITL, and between Pirna station and ITL a Desiro.

Parking facilities in Sebnitz:

Free public parking is available to you at the train station or the parking spaces at Blumenstraße / Böhmische Straße. From the train station you can reach the premises of TILLIG Modellbahnen in about 20 minutes walking, or by taking the shuttle bus. The company premises is about 5 minutes walking distance from the Blumenstraße/Böhmische Straße car park.

Paid parking (day ticket € 3.00) at the AGRO terminal, Hauptstraße 108, 01809 Heidenau. From there you can take the train of the Städtebahn Sachsen to the event area of the ITL and back (every 20 minutes or as required).
